Intro To Sketch Comedy Writing: About the Masterclass
Have a funny idea but don’t know how to turn it into a full sketch? In this practical masterclass, students will learn the foundations of sketch comedy writing and discover how shows like Saturday Night Live build a clear comic premise into a structured scene. We’ll explore how to identify the “game” of a sketch, create characters with strong points of view, escalate the comedy, and bring the idea to a satisfying ending. Through examples, group exercises, and guided writing, participants will begin developing an original sketch of their own. No previous comedy-writing experience is required—just bring your ideas and your sense of humor.
