IMPROV TEAMS
OUR 5 STEP FORMULA TO HELP YOUR TEAM THRIVE
STEP 1:
CULTIVATE
IMPROV FOR CREATIVITY
Our ability to be innovative is often constrained by sticking to what we know, making safe choices and pre-judging ourselves. This first workshop invites participants to cultivate their sense of playfulness and creativity, and empowers them to trust themselves and feel safe making bold, out-of-the-box choices.
STEP 2:
CONNECT
IMPROV FOR EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
The past year has left a lot of us feeling disconnected and even socially awkward. Improv has been described as “yoga for your social skills”. In this playful and interactive second workshop, we will (re)learn how to flex our communication muscles: being present, listening effectively, being attentive & empathetic to verbal and non-verbal cues and engaging others in a clear and confident manner.
STEP 3:
COLLABORATE
IMPROV FOR BRAINSTORMING
Often we try to solve problems on our own. In improvisation we “bring a brick, not a cathedral”, shifting the responsibility from the individual and incorporating the entire group. In this third workshop, we learn to create an open & fruitful debate - promote ideas even in situations where people hold contradicting opinions, and reach creative, collaborative solutions which engage all.
STEP 4:
CHANGE
IMPROV FOR ADAPTABILITY
The principles of Improv were developed to teach people to create, react and thrive in the face of the unknown. This interactive workshop teaches principles from the worlds of Improv and Psychology to help with thinking on your feet, and adapting to the challenges that arise in changing and unpredictable environments.
IMPROV SKILLS
USING IMPROV PRINCIPLES TO HONE THE SKILLS NEEDED IN TODAY'S WORKPLACE
MIND FLOW STORYTELLING
TELLING AUTHENTIC, IMPACTFUL STORIES
We humans are storytellers, and our ability to tell stories is our superpower for connecting with and inspiring others, whether they be investors, clients, colleagues, friends, our children or our cat. In Improv we are trained to create funny and relatable stories which engage our audience and in Psychotherapy we hone the ability to write our own personal narrative to create change. In this fun and interactive workshop, participants learn storytelling principles and techniques from the worlds of Improv and Psychology and practice applying them in real-time to create meaningful, impactful and authentic stories.
MIND FLOW DIFFICULT CONVERSATIONS
NAVIGATING THE CONVERSATION WE WOULD RATHER AVOID
We all know those conversations we would rather avoid. They feel too delicate, too awkward, too risky, too tense, however with the right tools, we can learn to navigate these conversations with empathy and assertiveness. In this playful, hands-on workshop participants learn skills grounded in Psychology and Applied Improv which help them thrive in difficult conversations - active listening, understanding common pitfalls which lead to miscommunication and heightened tension, being aware of the non-verbal cues we are sending, and honing our ability to be open, clear and confident when navigating challenging conversations.
MIND FLOW PRESENTION SKILLS
SPEAKING SO PEOPLE WILL LISTEN
Improv is all about presenting and managing audience expectation - we need to present our imagined reality to our audience in a clear and engaging way, whilst also helping them feel comfortable enough to agree to come along on the journey! And this all happens without a script! In this fun and interactive workshop, participants learn principles Improvisors use to; manage nerves (our own and our audiences), project confidence (even when you don't feel it), create authentic connection, and practice using tone, intonation, emotion and body language to engage our audience and speak so people will listen.
