Throughout this workshop series we will take a first step into the wonderful world of improv, exploring concepts such as accepting what's thrown at you, active listening, exuding confidence (even when you don't feel it), character building, creating meaningful relationships, physicality & scene development.
In short, how to create something from nothing!
Our next Improv 101 starts June 24th!
This workshop series is for advanced beginners. Over six weeks, we will dive into longer improvised scenework. We will begin by honing interesting character choices; creating three-dimensional characters who have emotion, history and motivations. We will then move onto relationship-building and explore how to create rapport between characters. Next, we will take those characters and relationships and explore them further in longer scenes, discovering how to build tension and intrigue. Finally, we will practice weaving those scenes together to tell a larger story. And of course we will have a whole lot of fun along the way! This course will end in an optional performance.
Our next Improv 201 begins Monday June 22!
This workshop series forcuses on longer scenework and advanced improv skills. We will hone skills inherent in long-form improv including pattern recognition, finding the game of the scene, story-development, advanced scene dynamics and working as an ensemble. In this workshop students will learn the Harold long-form format. This course will end in a performance.
