IMPROV 101 -

BACK TO BASICS

Throughout this workshop series we will take a first step into the wonderful world of improv, exploring concepts such as accepting what's thrown at you, active listening, exuding confidence (even when you don't feel it), character building, creating meaningful relationships, physicality & scene development.
In short, how to create something from nothing!

IMPROV 201 - CHARACTER & EMOTION

This workshop series is for advanced beginners. Over six weeks, we will dive into longer improvised scenework. We will begin by honing interesting character choices; creating three-dimensional characters who have emotion, history and motivations. We will then move onto relationship-building and explore how to create rapport between characters. Next, we will take those characters and relationships and explore them further in longer scenes, discovering how to build tension and intrigue. Finally, we will practice weaving those scenes together to tell a larger story. And of course we will have a whole lot of fun along the way! This course will end in an optional performance.
