Intro to Improv For Parenting
Time & Location
About the Event
About the workshop:
After becoming a mother 7 months ago, I realised that so much of my Improv training was a manual for more present, playful and adaptable parenting. Throughout this 2-hour workshop, you will be introduced to some of the cornerstones of Improv through fun and easy exercises, and start exploring how these principles relate to your experience as a parent (and a human).
Some of the topics we will cover include:
- Tapping into your sense of playfulness and creativity
- Being present
- Quieting your inner critic and accepting your mistakes
- Adopting a 'Yes, And' mindset, whilst still being able to set boundaries
About the facilitator:
Adaya is an Improviser and a registered Psychologist. Originally from Australia, she studied Improvisation at ImproAustralia and Chicago iO and has been practicing, teaching and performing improv for the past 9 years. She believes that improv skills are useful in almost every aspect of life; from work to relationships to everyday human interactions, and that everyone should try Improv at least once in their lives!
